I still get plenty of questions about what to eat surrounding workouts so this week I wanted to point people back to our Fueling Workouts series. This detailed series answers all your questions about what to eat, when to eat it, and how each macro-nutrient powers your performance. It’s a four part series that gives specific advice for your goal:

Part 1 - Overview: Learn how exercise breaks you down, how proper nutrition builds you back up, and why you don’t need to listen to all the crap marketing that comes from sports nutrition companies.

Part 2 - Muscle Building: There’s more to muscle building than protein. Learn how the right kinds of carbs and fats can significantly boost your results.

Part 3 - Race Training: This is another type of training where people historically focus on just one macro-nutrient - in this case carbs. Learn how to properly replenish those depleted glycogen stores and how the right kinds of dietary fat can increase the amount of body fat fueling your runs by as much as 50 percent.

Part 4 - Weight Loss: Running a calorie deficit and starving yourself are two very different things. Learn how to properly fuel your workouts so you feel great without sabotaging your weight loss.
